All this had led Akim to feel contempt for herself, unable to see how truly special she was.
So, when her friends invited her to something called a Spark Event to learn about God, she felt nervous. She didn’t want to learn about God. She didn’t want to know why He had made her this way.
But she went anyway.
At the event she sat surrounded by kids her age. She listened to the words the teachers were saying, and something special happened.
