During the GO trip in Los Angeles, Kristi and Artur had the opportunity to meet James at the Emmanuel Baptist Mission on Skid Row. He was sitting at a table when they arrived, and they quickly struck up a conversation. James opened up about his life, reflecting on both the good and bad choices he had made over the years. He shared that he was raised by his grandparents, who taught him right from wrong and took him to church. However, in his late teens, James chose to go his own way, stepping away from the guidance he had been given.
As they talked, Kristi, Artur, and James discussed how God speaks to us—not only through His Word, which brings life, but also through His creation, which reveals His majesty. James shared some of his own undeniable experiences with the Lord, and it became clear that God had been working in his life, drawing him back to Himself.
When Artur asked if they could pray with James, he agreed. They gathered around and prayed for him, and James expressed genuine gratitude. After the prayer, James left with a smile on his face and a newfound hope in his eyes. They had shared various Scripture verses with him, and he, in turn, shared many with them as well.
Kristi believed that James had been encouraged that day and that God had reminded him of His love and His purpose for his life. As James continues to follow Jesus, Kristi and the team are confident that God will faithfully guide his steps and fulfill the plan He has for him.
