Kiran* had lost everything. Days ago, violence motivated by ethnic and religious differences had brought rioters with torches to his town. When they left, nothing but ash remained.  Kiran had lost his house, his church, and even loved ones. Normally he would have turned to his bible at times of trouble like this, but he had lost that in the fire too.
