The Doors are closing but there's still hope
Churches are facing new laws. Christians are facing new restrictions. But here's the good news: there's still a way for you to share the gospel in China!
For five years the doors were wide open and hundreds of thousands of Bibles were provided to the churches, thanks to generous donors. We're sad to report that we can’t do that anymore. Everything has changed, except for one thing. There's still a unique opportunity to share the hope of the gospel with millions in China who are still lost—even though the doors are closing!
Bibles are still being printed in China, but the number allowed to be printed still has a cap that’s far lower than the Bibles needed. But now there’s a new restriction on Bibles: the government has banned the sale of all Bibles on online bookstores. Pastors have indicated an intensification of sanctions against churches, including the demolishing of crosses, burning Bibles, and raiding Christian homes to remove religious symbols.
The Hope magazine is an important resource to provide the church, and not just because it’s so different from anything else the church has. What’s so great is we have no limitations on how many of these magazines we can print! Today that non-restriction is more important than ever because of the new legal restrictions I’ve already mentioned. What an opportunity for us to equip churches in China—especially now in the midst of the persecution they’re facing—with a Scripture resource that points people to Jesus.
Every $30 you donate means 6 people living in hopeless darkness will finally see a glimmer of the light of Jesus—probably for the very first time. Thank you for your generosity.

The hope magazine
If you’ve never seen a copy of our Hope magazine, it features 50 Psalms in the first half of the magazine, overlaid on top of beautiful photography. The second half includes the complete Gospel of John, an invitation to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, and directions on downloading the NewLife Bible app to their smart phones.
The Bible distributions often got a bit chaotic, with pushing and shoving as desperate hands reached out to grab one. Messy but beautiful all at once. I can’t imagine that the crowds around Jesus were well-behaved… nor did He expect them to be.Read More
