Basketball and Bibles
By Sergey Zaugolnikov
Students come for a neighbourhood basketball tournament, but leave with a free gift of hope.
In August 2014 we organized a basketball tournament at a neighbourhood basketball court where our pastor, Vyacheslav, plays basketball once a week with young people from his neighborhood.
We invited seven teams to the tournament, including a team from the orphanage we had visited in April (where we spent a week with 45 high school students and gave them each a New Testament).
A total of 50 young people participated in the basketball tournament. We prayed together before each game and talked about the importance of showing respect on the court.
During the awards ceremony at the end of the tournament, each young person received evangelistic literature.
