Ranbir* was born to a Christian family in South Asia, his father being the local pastor. As the youngest of four children, however, he was often doted on and was free to live a rebellious life.
After earning money of his own, Ranbir left for college where he picked up more bad habits. Years later he finally returned to a family that welcomed him with open arms, despite his refusal to change his lifestyle. Until tragedy struck, and his father passed away.
Ranbir and his family struggled with the loss, as did the church. Without strong leadership, Ranbir noticed the church deteriorating before his eyes. Someone needed to step in and lead the believers.
One evening at home, Ranbir was searching in his cupboard when something slipped out and dropped onto the floor in front of him. It was a Spark magazine. Without quite knowing why, he sat down and looked through its pages.
As he made his way through the “12 Truths” laid out in the magazine, his broken heart was touched. Ranbir began to realize that he needed to live for God, and that his gifts and talents should be used for His glory. When he read the fifth truth, “God’s gift is waiting for you,” he knew what needed to be done.
That night, he accepted Christ as his Lord.
On the anniversary of his father’s death, Ranbir stood in front of the church congregation and openly confessed his sins to them. God led him to take up the leadership of his father’s church and grow the faith of the believers there.
With the truths of the gospel laid out in Scripture magazine, believers in his South Asian town are coming to know the healing power of God, and the comfort that comes from a relationship with Him.
