Have you ever felt like what you have to give is not enough? Maybe you wonder whether your time, your words, or even your small acts of kindness can truly matter.
Despite how we feel, God often uses the simple things we already have. He works through us right where we are, and He brings hope in ways we never expect.
Katherine discovered this truth in a quiet hospital in Santiago, Chile. She was 43 years old and had already spent a month there recovering from surgery.
What was meant to help her heal became a long and painful stay. Ongoing bleeding kept her from going home, and she was not allowed visitors, so her days crawled by in silence. Hope was hard to find.
During those difficult weeks, someone from a local partner church of ShareWord Global gave her a copy of the Esperanza (Hope) Scripture magazine.
She began to read it slowly, and as she turned each page, she felt Jesus meet her in her loneliness. The Scriptures felt personal and alive.
"When I felt alone, its words reminded me that God is with me," she said.
The magazine became more than something to fill the hours. It became her lifeline, offering her comfort and hope she could hold on to.
She started taking photos of the verses that spoke to her and posting them on social media, because she wanted others to feel encouraged too. From her hospital bed, she was becoming a messenger of the gospel.
The seeds of hope planted in her life were already spreading. Her posts reached people she may never meet, reminding them that God was near.
From a hospital bed, with a phone in her hand and a renewed faith, Katherine discovered that God does not need big stages to work. He only needs a willing heart.
Today, the same question remains for each of us: what could God do with what you already have?
