My name is Jeramiah Zomerman, and I am thrilled to be participating in a Gospel Outreach (“GO”) Trip to Brazil with ShareWord Global.
Our goal is simple yet profound: to share the hope of the gospel to every corner of the world. We do that by mobilizing local churches—our brothers and sisters in the faith—to join us in sharing the life-giving gospel of Jesus Christ with Scripture, to the people around them. We empower local churches through training, resources, outreach opportunities and a community of like-minded evangelists to support and encourage them. As I prepare for this incredible journey, I am humbled by the opportunity to be an instrument of change and a vessel of God's love. Together, we can make an eternal impact, touching hearts and transforming lives through the love of God.

I was raised in a Christian household as pastor's kid (a son of Ingrid and Andrew Zomerman), so I was always exposed to the Word and Christianity as a whole in an extremely in-depth way (after all; any questions I had for the pastor could be answered in my own home). So, I grew to love Scripture and the story it told, and I began to devour any research I could find to explain God's Word more fully.
Looking back, I am so glad for this desire, because it is amazing now (as I'm studying Mission and Ministry at Redeemer University) to see where that desire propels me. Naturally, however, I came to the disconnect between my head and my heart, and the wisdom I was researching was really struggling to travel the foot or so down to my heart. It was in the midst of this struggle that an opportunity arose for me to join a mission trip through Joshua Expeditions to Costa Rica and offer a helping hand at Flora's Daycare. It was on this trip, on the way back from one of our vacation days out to an island, that the Spirit came powerfully upon the bus with my friends, the leaders and I. We had an amazing discussion and it was at this point that the Lord rewired the disconnect between my head and my heart. This connection changed my perspective on what my faith really means, and how I can serve God best.
From this trip, I learned that I love to show others the love of Christ and teaching and/or spreading the Gospel. Because of this connection, I decided to take the Mission and Ministry course stream at Redeemer University. And it was here that I heard about this trip to Brazil, which was a beautiful opportunity to live out my faith, to help others and to spread God's Word. I hope that this can be a step in my faith towards being the spiritual leader that God calls me to be.
