Kiran* had lost everything. Days ago, violence motivated by ethnic and religious differences had brought rioters with torches to his town. When they left, nothing but ash remained. Kiran had lost his house, his church, and even loved ones. Normally he would have turned to his bible at times of trouble like this, but he had lost that in the fire too.
“Why my family? Why my church? Why me?” he asked.
That’s when someone like you made all the difference. By supporting the Persecuted Church, they sent Asha* to Kiran’s side to lend words of support and replace the Bible he had lost.
Your gift to support the persecuted Church today could make all the difference in someone like Kiran’s life. Whether you're helping a believer who doesn’t have access to God’s Word, or someone who is hostile towards Christianity hear the Good News for the first time, your support of the Persecuted Church changes eternity.
At just 13 years old Harriet’s life changed forever. Her dad was taken from her in a car accident, and she was forced to flee her big city home in Uganda, in search of safety at the Palabek refugee camp. But what she found there was anything but safety. While there, Harriet was the victim of sexual assault. An atrocious act that robbed her of her hope for the future, and shook her faith in Jesus. But when ministry partners came to her camp to share the gospel the words they shared touched her heart. “He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3). Harriet was moved to tears by the words, and asked if she could have the Hope Scripture magazine they were reading from.
The experience transformed Harriet. Now, not only has she regained her faith, she is using her pain to help others. She serves as a counselor to other young women who have suffered similar experiences and shares her story of hope with them!
