En Infinitely More
It's the promise of Ephesians 3:20—God can do "infinitely more than we might ask or think."
Sometimes, that looks like offering God what feels small: your time, your courage, or your willingness to speak. In those moments, God takes your one simple step of obedience and turns it into something far beyond what you would have ever expected.
That's what happened for Jeremiah.
During a GO Trip—a short-term ShareWord mission trip to the state of Pará, in Northern Brazil—Jeremiah took part in an Ignite Event at a small local Baptist church. The event was focused on unleashing local believers to share the gospel with confidence.
But when the Ignite Event began, something beautiful happened. Suddenly, 30 youth who weren't from the church showed up at the event!
The GO Team knew these kids needed the gospel—but in a way they could easily understand. While the church training went on, the team quickly shifted. They held a separate youth gathering with games, shared testimonies, and a short sermon from one of the translators. The kids were locked in on the activity going on around them.
As the excitement settled, the GO Team split into small groups. Jeremiah himself was easy to spot in his dove-patterned shirt—a quiet reminder of the peace of God he hoped to share with the youth. He and his group intentionally started looking around the room for youth to connect with and start conversations.
And as he did, God began working in Jeremiah in a way he could never have imagined.
In that moment, Jeremiah noticed him—a young boy keeping to himself. He stayed on the outside of the group, shy and reserved, as though he was waiting for someone to come to him.
Sensing the opportunity, Jeremiah approached him and started a conversation, applying the training he had heard earlier at the Ignite Event. At first, he started with some small talk about beaded bracelets the team was giving out, representing the gospel message. But Jeremiah saw the moment for what it truly was—a step to go deeper. He asked if he could walk the young boy through the Spark magazine, explaining the 12 biblical truths about God and His plan for humanity.
The young boy nodded, his shyness melting into excitement.
And as Jeremiah went through the Spark magazine, something extraordinary happened. As he shared the gospel, three more young boys circled around. Their attention was fixed on what was being shared.
All of a sudden, Jeremiah realized he was sharing the gospel with not one, but four young boys who were eager to hear more.
Jeremiah just took one small step forward that day, but God was already working through him, revealing the truth of Ephesians 3:20. In that moment, God did infinitely more with this one obedient step than Jeremiah could ever ask or think.
And He can do the same through you.
